Oh. Oh, oh, oh, oh. I just came home, and oh, honey. This broke my heart. The lesson here is not to assume that a light-hearted kinkmeme prompt = cheerful fic, especially when written by the wonderous weatherfront.) I definitely teared up in the middle of my crunches. Was able to last until I finished up and headed out before I let a few tears slip, but it was a near thing.

Your reading of this is just... perfect. Your voice really is so very well suited to angst, and rawness, and desolation. There is a quiet power in the way you speak that makes the narration impact like a ten tonne hammer to my heart. ;_;

You had me at the opening few lines. "But this isn't the important part." The gentle phrasing, your pauses in between. Just perfect. And the sentiment expressed within the story is so viscerally true that it hurts; the things you forget, you'll invent. It's okay, because you won't forget the important parts. There was a line you read, where Arthur is talking about Mal's love for red roses the second time. "I would love to be unique, but there is simply nothing better than romance." And Arthur chokes on the words, and cries, and you performed that line so perfectly that tears sprang to my eyes and my throat clenched up and I had to look at the ceiling for a minute. Just... really hit me. Yeah.

IKR?! When I picked this fic to record, I hadn't even clocked the summary, I just picked it because I liked the title, liked weatherfront's work and it was a suitable length. Then, after weatherfront said yes, I read the summary and was like o_O Greeeeeaaaaaaat, I have picked a fic full of porn and french Mal-dialogue. I love french Mal-dialogue *sarcasm BUT THEN I RECORDED IT AND IT TURNED OUT TO HAVE NEITHER OF THOSE THINGS. I was mighty surprised (and not a little thankful).

But that, of course, meant I was somewhat taken aback by the intense sadness! Because I hadn't read it before, my delivery is mostly based on my recovering sore throat and the fact I was weeping for most of it. I haven't heard from weatherfront yet, but I really desperately hope she likes it and isn't embarrassed by my overly emotional reading D:
