My friend Masami called Valentine's Day "Singles Awareness Day"!! I thought that was kind of true. Although, this year I'm really not concerned, which is pretty refreshing. However, it seems that I might be going on a date on Valentine's Day. I went to the Locus for Julie's b'day dinner last night and caught up with Tyler (the bartender there). We discussed the fact that we might want to try to hang out again and the timing might just not have been right the first time! He told me that he had a lot of fun when we hung out that time and he really wants to call me this time. He took my number and said he'd call me on Monday. It's worth a try I suppose!?! Julie got sprayed by some girl doing projectal vommiting outside of the restaurant. The lady walked back to her seat and pretended that nothing happened, while Julie had to hang out in her undershirt for the rest of the night. What was that all about!?!

I've got crap loads of homework and spent the day w/ Jenny today instead of working on any of that. I found out that Jenny has dermatomyositis, which is a auto-immune disorder that effects the skin. Ultimately, it's a debilitating virus that can cause you to lose body strength and muscle movement. She's not totally sure if the virus has reached her muscles, but it's possible that it might soon. One of the symptoms of an onset is extreme weight loss (she's lost about 15 lbs within the last twelve months). With the onset of the virus, it's possible that you can lose all muscle function and not survive past ten years. Doctors that she's gone to have claimed that the dermatomyosis and the hearing loss occured at the same time because of the same viral infection (about 11 years ago). She's feeling fairly confident that she's going to be doing okay, or it could just be her mannerism that she wants to reflect. She looked a little teary eyed when she was explaining it to me. It's such a shitty thing...but, if she feels confident, so do I that everything will work out! She's such a strong person! So amazingly strong and real. It's great that she's finding things that make her happy though and wants to see the world in a positive way. We watched Adaptation tonight and it was a really awesome film. I want to watch it again because there were some really beautiful words spoken.

Night.
