Another day in paradise. I find that my mind reflects the weather. Today had a cyclone warning for this region. However, the day was consistently cloudy, muggy and wet. Okay, so I arrived in Phenom Phen today after a fairly painless bus ride from Siem Riep. I really don't know what to expect when I enter a bus in SE Asia. It's generally met by a decent amount of miscommunication about whether we get to relieve our bodily functions over the next 10 hrs or not. Ok, so I just came back from Trop Fest. A series of short films from Australian directors. We had a pretty good crew of people. I met Nina today and it was perhaps the easiest first meeting ever. I've been told the temperatures are supposed to reach 38 degrees celsius today. With that kind of news, I've been staying inside...sweating mind you! Draught is such a concern out here that they have coined the term "Bucket Brigade" which means residents are saving there shower water or any other excess water in buckets and watering there gardens ( Read more... )

This is a fun city! Not a "No Fun City"! Take a hint Vancouver!!! I just spent the evening watching a FREE orchestra performance in the park while drinking wine and eating cheese.
