* Ginger ale turkey (which came out flawlessly, and I was allowed to hack the carcass apart after we ate, so really, there is no bad in my world

I just wanted to mention the one unexpected delight in my Thanksgiving dinner: guest John D. brought a pumpkin cheesecake for dessert. Pumpkin is not my favorite food, but this was a really memorable dessert for me. I thought of you, and how if I could have gotten the word to you, you probably would have used your superpowers to teleport right there (which would probably have disconcerted my mom, and the small house with the huge amount of stuff was already so full it would have been ridiculous to have another person, but it would have been worth it).
Meandering off on a tangent, picked up a MLP in one of the charity shops, white with green + red mane/tail and Santa tattooed across it's Butt, Do you want?
If we don't hear from you by this time tomorrow, we're sending out the search and rescue dogs.
Didn't do the ginger ale turkey, but I was considered adding hard cider to the turkey. Get it drunk before it knows it's being cooked! :) I wonder if ginger beer would work as well. My sister uses white wine.
I used what I call the "Scarborough Fair recipe" -- if you know the tune, you know the recipe. Parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme. And I also used a cooking bag so that it stayed moist and steamy.
My daughter had a bite of turkey and said "Yum!" I couldn't think of a better compliment.
And here's the irony.. when you talked about piling Thanksgiving things into salad, my first thought was that mashed potatoes and salad actually don't sound like a bad mix, and I might need to try that.. then I find out that's one of the few combinations you actually didn't do.
Does this mean I'm actually weirder than you in food tastes?
