Ten great things about today.
1. It is Friday the Thirteenth -- thirteen has always been a lucky number for me, and what day in the working week could be better than Friday? Friday rules. Friday rules more when it comes with a thirteen of its very own. Life is good.
2. The Concord Aquarium just called to let me know that they got the new shipment of crown-tailed bettas in, so I'm finally going to be able to get a betta to come and live here on my desk, thus enabling me to amuse myself with fishy antics, and...
3. The East Bay Vivarium has Giant Indian preying mantises (mantids) in again, so I have the option of having a new bug-eating buddy as well. I like bug-eating buddies. They keep me from being chewed on by mosquitoes.
4. I am wearing a safety orange T-shirt, with an electric blue scrunchie and alternating dark and electric blue nail polish. I look like an example of school spirit gone horrifically wrong. All I need is pom-poms and the evil will be complete.
5. I started the morning by reading new issues of 'Fables' and 'Finder'. Squee! (No spoilers in the comments, I beg.)
6. I'm going to the San Diego ComiCon.
7. Lilly is recovering rapidly from being neutered, and is going to be just fine; my kitty will not make any additional kitties. I have thus done my duty as a responsible pet owner, and can continue to cheerfully maul her at every opportunity.
8. I have a season pass to Great America, and the weather is only getting better from here. These things combine well.
9. Last night's episode of 'The O.C.' -- which I haven't seen, but -- was apparently really, really good, so I have something to look forward to.
10. New shower gels from LUSH in less than two weeks.
