Thursday plans, and stuff.

Okay. My Thursday is now confirmed. I will...

1) Get up.
2) Go to work. (Oooooooooo, the terror.)
3) Leave work, and take the bus to BART.
4) Take the BART to Berkeley, where I will:

a) Deposit my paycheck,
b) Drop in at Other Change of Hobbit for the other Michael Swanwick anthology,
c) Meet Lissa Allcock.

5) Spend a lovely evening with Lissa, nowhere near my house, my computer, my personal possessions or my cheese.

I don't know why I said that about the cheese, but hey, it's still true. I'm going to hold off depositing my paycheck until Thursday because that's going to be my Big Dinner Out for the week: I think I'm trying a new recipe for crusted thyme chicken with creamed potato leek mash on Friday, which means a trip to the grocery, but won't cost nearly as much per person as going out to eat would.

Pol's writing poetry now -- here, have a sonnet:

Remember me, my love, when skies are dark,
And distant stars deny my love for you.
Upon my heart your hand has left its mark;
Though time denies us, I'll be naught but true.
I loved you when I thought the candle's flame
Would measure out my life in petty hours...
And though I am a pawn in this cold game,
That does not change what little bliss was ours.
Remember me, my love, though far away:
The miles cannot seal my soul from yours.
We'll meet again, I promise you, someday...
If not on this, then on some brighter shores.

I gave my pledge to you, and true remain,
Where science can't deny, nor lies contain.
