Haunted houses are love. Also Embalming Fluid and hayfields.

So I got home Saturday night to find two packages waiting on my doorstep, both for me. Score! I love getting mail. There's almost nothing better in the world than getting mail (that isn't bills or just random trash). So I squealed, did a little dance step, grabbed my surprise goodies, and retreated into the house to make with the opening.

Box #1 was from the Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab, and contained a bottle of Hay Moon, aka 'so you want to smell like you were having sex in the hayloft when the demonically-possessed scarecrow showed up.' (I'll do a better review later, but seriously, this perfume smells like kinky serial killer hayloft sex. Naturally, I love it dearly, and you can't have it.) Since there was just one bottle, I only got two free imps, but the postcard went promptly onto my corkboard. Totally made of win.

Book #2 (from Heather) was technically Big Padded Envelope #1, and contained two bottles from the 2007 Haunted House BPAL collection -- The Forbidding Foyer and The Ghastly Garden. That takes me up to three pieces of the horrible house (I already had The Perilous Parlor, which was a gift from Laura). Now I just need to track down the rest of the house, and I'll have a place to stick all my ghosts. The Ghastly Garden turns out to go straight to acid and oleanders on my skin, which was somewhat disturbing unto me. But! The package didn't just include perfume! No!

Heather sent me Embalming Fluid nail polish. Now, ironically, the Lab doesn't use formaldehyde in their nail polish -- and in this case, it would have been entirely appropriate -- but the stuff is awesome. It's a sort of spooky, ectoplasmic green with sparkles in it, and it glows in the dark. There has never, ever, in the history of time, been nail polish as cool as this is...

...and I'm having my first manicure this week.

Do the math.

Glee!

primping, bpal, good things, gratitude
