Saturday morning. Do not want.

Jun 07, 2008 07:31

Step 1: Wake up from really fascinating dream involving using Mary Crowell's song 'The Doctrine of Ethos' combined with a magical patchwork quilt to get Talis back from the Lord of the Dead (who was looking for a marriage counselor after Persephone decided she wanted another baby). Grumble. Discover that it is six o'clock. Go back to sleep.

Step 2: Wake up at seven o'clock because Lilly has started dedicatedly licking my chin and whining for me to be awake now please mommy please be awake now I'm lonely you're not petting me you've been asleep too long please? Pet the cat for a while. Because that is what one does when throwing the cat at people is not an option.

Step 3: Bathroom. Wake up a little reading Grant Morrison's The Invisibles. Because, y'know, that's a great way to get into a normal human mindset for the day to come.

Step 4: DDP. Because the world deserves to continue to exist.

Step 5: Sit down at computer. Check email. Discover edits. Y'know what's awesome at seven in the morning? Killing commas with a machete. It requires minimal cognitive presence, it feels very productive, and best of all, it does nothing to prevent the consumption of DDP.

I am the living dead today.
