BayCon concert set list!

Because I've tried to make posting these a habit -- it's a great way to remember what's been performed where, and to remind folks that really, I do perform the same songs more than once; it's just that I rarely perform them more than once in the same place -- I present the BayCon 2008 concert set list. Complete with annotation and lyric links. Because I'm kind like that.

The BayCon set list, with arrangement notes, was as follows:

1. 'Counting Crows.' (Seanan, lead vocals; Vixy, backing vocals; Tony, guitar.)
2. 'Mama Said.' (Seanan, lead vocals; Vixy, backing vocals; Tony, guitar.)
3. 'Carnival Glass.' (Seanan, lead vocals; Vixy, backing vocals; Tony, guitar.)
4. 'Oh, Michelle.' (Seanan, lead vocals; Vixy, wandering guilelessly into danger; Tony, guitar.)
5. 'What A Woman's For.' (Seanan, Vixy, Maya, lead vocals; Paul, guitar.)
6. 'Dear Gina.' (Seanan, lead vocals; Vixy, backing vocals; Paul, guitar.)
7. 'Jack's Place.' (Seanan, lead vocals; Paul, guitar.)
8. 'The Snow Queen Dreams.' (Seanan, lead vocals; Vixy, backing vocals; Paul, guitar.)
9. 'Fox Hunt.' (Seanan, lead vocals; Vixy, Maya, backing vocals; Paul, guitar; Beckett, harmonica.)
10. 'When I Go.' (Seanan, lead vocals; Paul, backing vocals; Paul, guitar; Beckett, harmonica.) (Song by Dave Carter.)
11. 'Preston Miller.' (Seanan, lead vocals; Vixy, backing vocals; Tony, guitar.) (Song by Dave Carter.)

This set had a remarkably high number of repeat songs, largely because a) we had limited rehearsal time (which meant we needed to work with songs that were reasonably easy to beat into shape) and b) I've been doing a lot of shows outside California recently, which means that while I may feel like a song's been done before, a lot of local folks are like 'what? No! I've never heard that! Cut it out!' And I enjoy not being lynched.

The chords for 'Counting Crows', 'Mama Said', 'What A Woman's For', 'Dear Gina', 'Jack's Place', 'The Snow Queen Dreams', and 'Jack's Place' were originally worked out by Paul Kwinn. Some were later tinkered with by Tony Fabris and/or Jeff Bohnhoff (depending on the song). 'Carnival Glass' was chorded by Debbie Gates, and tinkered with by Paul Kwinn. Beckett Gladney's harmonica parts were worked out entirely by Beckett, and were made of pure awesome and win. Vixy's backing vocals on 'Dear Gina' were brought to you by thirty years of horror cinema, and made the ghost of Vincent Price very, very happy.

'Oh, Michelle', 'What A Woman's For', and 'Dear Gina' will be on Red Roses and Dead Things. 'When I Go' is on the album When I Go, by Dave Carter and Tracy Grammar. 'Preston Miller' is on Tracy Grammar's tribute to Dave Carter, Flower of Avalon. This was my first concert in some time which did not require a labcoat, although I did have really impressive shoes.

It was a good show.
