I believe the last time it was asked, the general consensus among Publishing Sorts was that running *anything* through a vanity press is career suicide in terms of getting any other work you've done published 'for real'.

Ah, understood. Ironically, whenever I think of the Bay area, some of my first thoughts go to Changeling; my fiancee's long-running Changeling campaign is centered on a struggle for succession in the Duchy of Golden Gate. I'm playing a minor sidhe noble who's an independent filmmaker and sympathizes with commoners.
