Housing update x6
Everybody think very good thoughts for me.
I have two offers out right now. On one of them, there's me and one other bid-- I'm the higher offer, but the other offer is all cash. The bank is considering both offers tomorrow. The other offer I'm supposed to hear back tomorrow night, and we don't know anything else about it at all.
Everybody think good thoughts that any counters they come back with aren't actually asking for more money ;.; Because I reran my numbers today and discovered that two columns of my spreadsheet-- on every page-- every tab (I have one tab for each condo I'm considering)-- I had missed the HOA/utilities total in the final total, so I was off about $500 per condo ;.; Which dropped me well below my "comfort threshhold" that I'd told myself I'd save on every. single. condo. Even the cheapest ones! Even the ones I bid on!
I can mitigate it by dropping my "other" expenses and "friend" expenses down to minimums, and just be $100-200 below my "comfort threshold" per year, instead of $400-500. If I dropped a whole vacation, I'd be super-duper safe (I budget for three vacations a year), but I'm not quite willing to go there yet >.> Not quite.... Especially not this year, when one of those vacations is the second-or-third-to-last shuttle launch EVER XP Maybe next year, though, I'll do that, and possibly the year after too, just until I feel safer money-wise. Just make two big trips (maybe make one or two small driving trips to make up for it...), and then I might not have $900 extra that year, but more like $500, which will be good enough, really.
That's an idea. I do believe I'll plan for that. That makes me feel better ^^ And then in FIVE years (I think) I can drop the mortgage insurance and start actually saving BETTER XP That's sixty bucks a month, man! It's crazy.
But yeah. That's where I am now :P Hoping and planning to scrimp a LOT XD At the very least, the first couple years, until I build up a little safety net again....
In other news, games are going well. Well, okay, one is slowing down like whoah, and I feel like I dominate the scenes majorly (as in, 85% of the scenes that go up are MINE-- with various people, but still, MINE), but it's my "third game" and I have contingencies for if it dies. One other is also slow, but it doesn't seem to be dying-slow X3 And MY game is marvelous. I love my game so much XD I really do. Though am thinking will have to postpone the gameweek change, cuz we are all so very behind ;.; Which makes me a little sad, as I am looking forward to next gameweek. Yes, indeedy, I am.
In RL news, I got hit on by a late-50s man from work who only is a widower as of, like, earlier this year ;.; It was flattering, but CREEPY AS HELL TOO. I mean, all he did was ask me out to dinner, and say he wasn't looking for anything serious, but I felt kind of dirty for a while. For srs. Though apparently he was relieved that I'd turned him down politely, instead of laughing at him, or something? I'm good at being polite, I guess o.o :: shudders at memory ::
Aaaand in work news, part of my Finance-type job got taken away as of today. But in its place, and to hopefully fill up more time in my very boring work existence, I will soon be starting to get trained in IT stuff! =D Was supposed to start today, but the dude who's training me called in sick for today and tomorrow XP Blah. I guess I will start Wednesday instead >.>
Finally, it's too hot. Stupid summer. I hate summer :P
