Oh my fucking God, it was AMAZING! He played Dirty Blvd., Ecstacy, Coney Island Baby, I'm Waiting For The Man, The Raven, and Ended with Sweet Jane and Perfect Day. It was so incredibly cool. I cannot even begin to describe how amazing he is live. I was in awe, that I was in the same location as the guy who has literally lifted me out of so many bad times and let me see the bigger picture of life. He was THERE! Holy shit. I think I am going to scream.
I went with my dad, and there were these drunk guys in the seat behind us. One started kicking my dad's chair and so my dad turned around and asked him to stop. His friend leans over and says that he has the Tourettes. Bullshit, he had the Drunks(you could smell it). My dad pointed this out, at which point the guy cocked his fist and threatened to break my dad's glasses (If you have never met my dad, he is just about my size. Just a couple inches shorter and a couple degrees meaner). My dad told him that wouldn't be such a good idea. Well, he had ventured into forbidden territory by cocking a fist at my dad. So I turned around. (There was a seat between my dad and I, so I guess they didn't know we were together) Here is what happened:
OWEN: Are you threatening my father?
DRUNKY (After a moment of shock and a double-take): Hey, it's cool, it's cool.
OWEN: Yes it is cool.
DRUNKY (Putting a hand on my shoulder and trying to back out with some grace): Hey man, we don't want a problem.
OWEN: You don't want a problem.
Needless to say, they skedaddled. But my dad and I kept an eye out for them as we left. But there was no problem. I t was pretty funny, and my dad and I have been itching to get into a fight with each other at our sides. Man, thank God for family.
I got called back for the shows, and I have a good chance of getting into "How To Conquer a Southern Woman." We'll see, eh?
Lou Reed gave me the words.
Thought of you as my mountaintop.
Thought of you as my peak.
Thought of you as everything
I've had and couldn't keep.
If I could make the world as pure
And strange as I see.
I'd put you in the mirror
I put in front of me
Linger on. I'm gonna miss you.
