I am looking forward INTENSELY to the summer, and mostly to having money to spend.

For example, I just had a dream which focused entirely on the Ottawa river, where I was biking along. The Ottawa river route is the way I will bike to/from work (or just from work if I don't want to arrive sweaty). During this dream, there were all sorts of building projects popping up on either side and I kept on thinking, "Wow, since when did Aylmer need skyscrapers!?". The Nortel building, which gleams like a jewel, visible from Downtown for anyone on the river path, was being replaced by a big tower. Britannia Beach, currently desolate and filled with parks and echoes of children's laughter, became a cobblestone strip of old buildings occupied by shops and merchants.

I woke up thinking what I've been thinking over since I heard I landed the job. What do I do with the money? Of course, there's paying off school, but I'll have enough left over. I'm considering buying more music gear, including a drum set. More likely possibilities are for travel. Perhaps a road trip (but in the old Civic? Can it handle hours on end of driving?). The top option is to go to Romania, between the end of my job and frosh week.

I want to land in Vienna and take a train to Romania, so I can see that city. I'm taking it for granted that plenty of Austrians speak English. If not, I can actually fake decent-sounding German, I'll just have to brush up on the phrases I know (Granaten! does not suffice - stupid WW II videogames). The Austrian embassy is near U of O, I'll go there today. The Romanian embassy I worry will try to scam me, eg. making me apply for a passport when I don't need one.

I don't think I'll need to brush up on Romanian too much, I intend to be visiting the cities linked to my family, then tramp around the Carpathian mountains until I achieve enlightenment.
