I haven't posted in a while, despite some important stuff happening to me.
During reading week, last week, I found that I got placed for co-op. Starting in May, I'll be working at Statistics Canada! With way higher pay than I thought I'd be paid. There's a real chance I won't have to work part-time during school afterwards, since i can put money aside. I will be alternating one semester of co-op and one of school, so four months living on savings won't be hard to do. I'll just buy nice things when I'm employed.
As my computer broke down a while ago, I'm using a shitty laptop. I can't access my music very easily (this computer won't play mp3s and I can't find out how to make it play them), youtube has been my jukebox. I'm listening again to a band I found a long time ago, called Drudkh. They are quite musically talented. I stopped listening to them when I found out they had... unsavoury political ties. But there are some musicians I still listen to who are murderers (Burzum, Dissection).
So how evil or wrong, or just different from yours, would a band's political views be before you stopped listening to them? Cinematographers still watch Triumph of the Will, a Nazi propaganda film, for its innovative use of camera angles and editing. We still read books from authors who were racist (eg. from the 19th century), and look past it because it was the spirit of their time.
