So
pete_wisdom posted about Mirrormask and Serenity theaters for Friday. I've been wanting to see Mirrormask since I was imdb'ing Neil Gaiman at least a year or so ago (probably during my Sandman phase, which was winter/early spring 2004). He said Mirrormask is playing at the E st. cinema, which is where I saw the awful Steamboy.
Point being, I checked on fandango to make sure it's correct and saw it's coming out on Friday. Well, I'm going to Serenity on Friday night so that's not happening this weekend. I put Serenity into the search, and the only theater that came up was in Rockville.
This cannot be the only theater in the Washington, DC metro area that's showing it. That's in the suburbs, where I grew up. The non-final Serenity even showed in DC. Could it have gotten such a horrible response so they're not showing it at all? This is a city of, um, hundreds of thousands of people. They have to show it within the damn district boundaries.
