Nice day again. Holiday. Memorial Day.
It is slow going as I pick through bricks, hewn stone and concrete to determine what I can use for paving and what I can discard as "shards" to fit along side the pipe of the soakage trench.
Meanwhile I am assembling brick path ways with hewn stone borders.
Pollen count is high and around lunch time I had a sneezing attack, so went in and had lunch.
Also did some research on using broken concrete...and it is definitely a supported concept. I picked up a number of videos and put together an instruction list.
My patio area will consist of a number of regions that form a triangle integrating the rain barrel bases. Attached to this triangle is the 3 foot wide walkway to be paved with bricks.
I am hoping to get away with a rough in-progress patio and walkway for the city inspection. If not, I will take on the next step.
Right now I am close to finding all the useless concrete and filling gaps in the trench. Then I will unload my river rock and use the bucket to transport gravel into the smaller gaps. Once the surface is reasonably consistant ( some concrete will go above the pipe top), I will cover with landscape fabric, fold over with the trench wall fabric and fill the trench!
If I have any left over fabric, I will line the remaining area of the circle, then load wheel barrows with gravel and dump them in the circle.
To work in LBT I am removing poke plants and other weeds and blackberries while relocating gutters, pipes and other items to the north piles. While not their final destination, it is on the way to total removal.
Other tasks I am thinking of doing:
* Gathering river rock.
* Dumping compost.
* cutting into Byron Hill 2 and pre-combining with compost.
* creating a seat using concrete blocks at the former site of BH2.
* continue with scalloped edging addition and repair.
* moving rain barrel pedestals.
* finishing rough walkways with bricks.
* moving all brick pieces to front of house.
* moving rain barrels to temporary place in front of the house.
* moving pallet to area near House70
* move hose to north side hose carrier
I will work from home again this week. Someone scheduled some sort of quarterly event with some higher ranked person, so I will have to borrow Marisa's car to be there for that, but I think that will be next week.
