Friday: Cannibal! The Musical was the show of choice for this theatre critic. The performance was a bit on the amateur side, but still enthusiastic and fun, and the show itself is pretty hilarious. I'll get around to writing my review one of these days...it was also the Night of Revolving Party Hosts over on the porch, as Vanessa threw a party, Kari took over when she got sick, and I ended up hosting the late-stragglers when Kari went to bed. I like Laura and Ryan, though, and Joe's always a trip (though I totally put my foot in my mouth over one of their friends, whom I found insufferable).
Saturday: After a day of nothing particularly productive beyond hitting the gym, I attended a Japanese fundraiser dinner thingie with Andrej and Amanda, a friend of his from work. One of Drej's acquaintences is participating in an Aids marathon thing, and our dinner was a money-raiser for that. The food was delicious (and so much of it!), and the attendees were all very articulate and interesting. I felt like I was out of place, having never lived in a foreign country or served in the Peace Corps. I headed over to Carpool afterwards (nice, chill bar in Ballston) to celebrate Lee's bday. Audrey was there, tempting me with her nachos. Their friends were fun, particularly this vivacious girl named Lisa and her fiance, Rob, though the party broke up earlier than I'd expected.
Sunday: Spent the day in Baltimore. I'd orginally thought I was going to the Orioles game, but the Hollers lost interest in the prospect, so we never made it. We saw The Illusionist instead at the Senator, which I REALLY thought was great (even Jessica Biel was pretty good!). George and Phay went as well. Afterwards, we went over the Gutberlets for a Jess/Phil bday dinner. George and I were doing guitar/piano duets at the end, which of course I enjoyed (though everyone was getting really sick of "Somewhere Out There" as a result) - I'm gonna learn the words to "By My Side" from Godspell so we can do that number together as well (it's apparently one of like two songs he knows by heart). I got home later than I'd hoped, but as Kevin said, it's hard to leave the Guttberlets.
