Hey everyone, Paprika here. Word around the village is that we got new people coming in here again. Sorry to everyone who got roped into this crazy place - if you don't think it suits your needs that is. This place can be really insane sometimes, but remember: you aren't alone here. We all deal with the same scientists and helping each other out ( Read more... )

Oh, wow! You ate ten hotdogs in under five minutes!? That's more than two hotdogs a minute! [Yup, he's impressed and forgot one of these things are suppose to be a lie.]

[A light chuckle. Oh Vash.]

You just need to eat two at the same time, along with washing it down with a glass of water. It's very tiring.

Wow, you must have a big mouth to fit TWO hotdogs in it!

I never tried stretching my mouth out, but I bet I could do it if I wanted to.

[And nope, she's not even going to say whether it's true or not. He didn't ask if it was!]

[ because this won't be awkward. ]

I'll pick lie the third. No one would ever want to eat that many hot dogs ever.

That isn't true! People in hotdog eating contests would eat that much and more.

[...] But, that's irrelevant because you're right.

I'm convinced that the people in hotdog eating contests are aliens. And so far? No proof to prove otherwise.

Very hungry aliens, craving beef dogs on bread holders, coming to eat all our food supply and end life as we know it.

[... Yup, this won't be awkward.]

The... third one?

Is that really the most unbelievable of them all?

[A lax sigh.]

Yeah, you're right.

I just think you know that if you don't chew or eat your food slowly, you'll get a stomachache. Everyone should know that!

Yeah that does sound about right. Pretty simple concept right there. Simple as zipping up a jacket when you get cold!

But, eating contests are super popular back home and they manage to do it without throwing up.

What a wonderful way of looking at things! I'll have to keep it in mind, Paprika. Thank you!

...Oh, sorry, I nearly forgot! Um, I think the lie is that you've been in Luceti for a year. That would he horrible...

And my name is Medli. I play music on the harp, I deliver mail across the Great Sea, and I'm studying to be an attendant!

You're welcome!

Sadly, you're wrong about that. It sounds bad, but the lie is the hotdog thing. I'm not that fast of an eater. I really have been here for a good year.

As for you...I say the lie is studying to be an attendant.

Oh, really? I've never even seen a hot dog...

But wow, a whole year! I can't imagine being trapped here for so long. That must be depressing to think of, though, so... the lie is that I deliver mail! That's the duty of the other members of my tribe, but mine is to serve as the attendant to our great sky spirit Valoo. I've never actually left my home before today.

Wow, really? That sounds really amazing. It must be cool to be in a place outside of your home for once. [Either that or frightening, but thinking positively here!]

Third's a lie. [ deadpan as ever. ] With something like this, people would usually add at least one extreme extraordinairy true fact about themselves along with an extreme but somewhat ordinairy false fact about themselves to make believe believe the former true one is actually the false one, right?

... That, and this place seems to have a thing for pulling in people who are involved with world saving events, so it isn't too ridiculous.

Depends on what you define as extreme. Where I come from, saving the world would be a pretty big extreme, but here it seems so commonplace. On the other hand, eating hotdogs that quickly may not seem so strange and bizarre. At least not compared the other choices I gave you.

It doesn't change that you're right though.

Still, a person would assume that saving the world is pretty extreme, right? Since I don't think there are huge groups of people saving the world from certain doom each and every day in one single world, so it still seems extreme.

Well, thinking about something like this is all useless either way.

Yeah, but the meaning is watered down when it is exposed so much. Something like eating animals must have been an extreme thought once, but when everyone began doing it then that changed! When you hear of people saving the world all the time, it doesn't seem as amazing anymore.

[Not that Paprika thinks that herself - saving anything so large is a feat.]

I don't see why it's useless. Hey, you should try it too. C'mon, tell me two truths and a lie!
