Hey everyone, Paprika here. Word around the village is that we got new people coming in here again. Sorry to everyone who got roped into this crazy place - if you don't think it suits your needs that is. This place can be really insane sometimes, but remember: you aren't alone here. We all deal with the same scientists and helping each other out ( Read more... )

What a wonderful way of looking at things! I'll have to keep it in mind, Paprika. Thank you!

...Oh, sorry, I nearly forgot! Um, I think the lie is that you've been in Luceti for a year. That would he horrible...

And my name is Medli. I play music on the harp, I deliver mail across the Great Sea, and I'm studying to be an attendant!

You're welcome!

Sadly, you're wrong about that. It sounds bad, but the lie is the hotdog thing. I'm not that fast of an eater. I really have been here for a good year.

As for you...I say the lie is studying to be an attendant.

Oh, really? I've never even seen a hot dog...

But wow, a whole year! I can't imagine being trapped here for so long. That must be depressing to think of, though, so... the lie is that I deliver mail! That's the duty of the other members of my tribe, but mine is to serve as the attendant to our great sky spirit Valoo. I've never actually left my home before today.

Wow, really? That sounds really amazing. It must be cool to be in a place outside of your home for once. [Either that or frightening, but thinking positively here!]

[Unfortunately, she's finding it hard to do the same.] It's a little scary, to tell the truth... the people seem nice, but everything here is so strange to me.

[She nods into the camera.]

I don't blame you. ...I've never left my home before I arrived here and this place is definitely strange, I won't lie about that, so I know how you're feeling. But, you won't need to worry! People are supportive and it won't seem so strange to you after the first month or so.

Hearing you say "the first month" like that... I'm glad time doesn't pass here, but it's still a concept that's difficult for me to grasp. But you're right, I shouldn't worry so much!

Um, if you don't mind me asking, what was your home like?

Time is rather shifty here. I think if I were to put it in scientific terms, it's like your conscious mind is drawn out of your body and put here. Sort of like a dream -- dreams can feel like they take a long time, but when you wake up you see that not much time has really passed.

...Not that this is a dream, but it's just a thought.

My home was a large city. Tall buildings, thousands of people and a lot of things going on at any single time. Very busy place.

[A pause, while she thinks that over.] Yes, that seems like a good comparison. Although you seem so confident that it's not actually a dream... with all the other bizarre things that have happened, is it really so unreasonable?

But, wow, thousands! If you tried to fit that many people on Dragon Roost, I think they'd spill out into the sea.

Well, maybe it isn't, but I don't want to get your hopes up. I'm something of a dream expert back home, so you can take my word on it. ...Or don't. It doesn't matter so much to me either way. [She says with a wave of her hand. It's better to just be honest about the situation.]

Yeah, there aren't even that many people in Luceti I think. Cities are very large places and can house all those people at once, without too much crowding. Dragoon Roost sounds like a pretty small place, if you don't mind me saying.

Ah, so you're a dream interpeter! In that case, I believe you.

Well, it's nothing in comparison to Luceti, that's for certain! It's an island, and almost all of it is a volcano. My people make their aerie in its caverns, whatever is available to us that's safe from the harsh winds and heat.

If I had to guess, I'd say there's a little more than two hundred people there.

A volcano? That sounds pretty dangerous. Is it inactive or could it still implode?

Luceti has something close to that. I think. No one has ever done a headcount, what with heads disappearing almost every day and new ones coming up.

Oh, it's not so bad! The lava is plentiful, but the Great Valoo watches over us, so it stays in the caverns around our home. So long as we keep him pleased, we won't come to any danger. [Zelda volcanology at work or just magic? You decide]
