All I Want for Christmas....

Dec 02, 2007 23:48

Here's MY wishlist from
holiday_wishes ....in case anyone hasn't seen it.....(shameless plug, sorry...)

First, the rules:

STEP ONE
- Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.

- If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you. [Note: Your home address is not required!]

- Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post (it'll be public) so that the holiday joy will spread.

STEP TWO
- Surf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:

- If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.

You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call. There are no guarantees with this project, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.
Here's my list of wishes, in no particular order!

1. Ornaments, I have a bigger tree this year and so I need more stuff to fill it up. I'm always looking for different shoe ornaments. My mom started the obsession a few years ago, and I've continued it since she passed away last year. Fun homemade ornaments are great too, especially picture ones!

2. My spice rack needs a bit more....spice! I'm looking for funky different ones, or common spices to replenish what's on my rack already. I also love different sugar packets (ya know, the ones with logos from different areas) and samples of jellies, etc.

3. Any piece of mail that isn't a bill gets opened immediately after I check our mailbox for the day. After we got married, we had a card in our box everyday for months. It was great! I love this time of year because I get Christmas cards from people I haven't talked to all year. And if you send me one, I'll definitely return the favor. Cards, postcards, stickers, notepads, anything!

4. A Mix CD of "pop-py" music (ya know, boy bands, bubble gum stuff...) or funky fun music. Good driving songs.

5. Scrapbook stuff!!!! paper, stickers, ideas!!

6. Any used book by Jennifer Crusie or Meg Cabot. I just started reading Meg's stuff, and I'm hooked. I'm open to other chick-lit stuff that you're willing to share. I have some books that I can share as well!!!

7. Kitty toys for our boys Catcher and Charlie. They love playing fetch with MICE!

8. Picture frames and albums! We can never have too many of those! I'm partial to collage frames because I can fit different pics in one spot!!

9. Anything with my name on it.....magnets, pens, stickers. I have a few state magnets (FL and NC) with my name, and I have a few keychains, so if I can expand my collection, that would be SUPER!!! (btw my name is Molly!!)

10. New LJ friends! I'm starting to be more active on this site again and I need people to relate to and just exchange thoughts! (I've met quite a few friends in the past few days, which has been fantastic!! More more please!!!)
