Reason: Opening of the new school year.
Storm was quite shaken, and it nearly was visible. Her hands seemed to be almost vibrating, and it was lucky that she had full control over her powers, else a storm be brewing outside.
The Professor was alive. It was unbelievable, incredible, amazing, and the feeling she had inside her was indescribable. Five months after his death, and she finds out that he's alive.
She walked up to the front of the room, the biggest room in the mansion, where all the students were packed in. Storm smiled at them, forcing her composure back in its place. "Good evening, students," she said in a clear voice, looking out over the room. There were faces she knew quite well, faces that she had just met over the summer, and some even that she didn't recognize.
"I hope you all had a wonderful summer. First things first, however - those of you who have been here before already have your rooms, and you will be staying there. New students, on the wall on the other side of the room there is a list of hallways that relate to your age. From there you may pick a room.
"Classes begin tomorrow, so make sure to get a good night's sleep," she paused to let a wave of laughter pass over the room, and smiled, "But there is no need to be intimidated, days here aren't that tough. I'm sure I'll be seeing some of you myself in class." Her eyes met a few students', traveling over the room. Storm taught the group of students in the X-Men Training Program, teaching those who were one day to become X-Men advanced skills.
"So eat up, we've put out some food for you, and enjoy the rest of your first day at the Xavier Institute before school starts!" Stepping back, she smiled again and waved a hand, allowing the students to begin talking. And after answering a few questions and having quick chats with some other faculty members, Storm quietly slipped off to her room, eager to find out some news on what the X-Men had discovered.
