I went to install Eudora on this new computer, to find that even Eudora OSE, the Thunderbird-driven thing which replaced Qualcomm's original Eudora software, has finally passed away.

I've been using Eudora for my email since 1995!   *weeps*

I feel as I would if I had just discovered that you couldnt' buy a kettle any more.  

No, thankfully I have not had anyone rummaging in my email or buying stuff on my Amazon account.  But this year really has been the Year of the Compromised Password, in terms both of my clients having problems in this department that I've had to sort out, and in terms of people I know apparently sending me invitations to services of dubious origin.

Apparently a letter telling me I need a sight test (not just a contact lens check) has gone AWOL. I discovered this when I went to the contact lens check, about which I did receive a letter, and was told that I should have also booked a sight test ( Read more... )

I am using a new spam filter, Spamatoxy from Spamato. First impressions: it was a bit of a git to install, due largely to instructions written with the best of intentions but clearly by a non-native English speaker.
