So I helped the nurse by hanging onto one of my mom's legs and holding a small flashlight that is meant to go on the 'bill' of a baseball cap.

I have seen way more of my mom's body than I have ever wanted...

Well, my mom went into Methodist Dallas for surgery to remove more of the tumor January 24. She started having trouble with the right leg this time. She couldn't use her sewing machine because the tumor had grown back ( Read more... )

Is back in the hospital having her meninigioma cut out some more. It grew back and she now has no control over either of her legs. The surgery was done on Tuesday. As soon as I get a moment, I'll jot down some of the stuff that went on in the waiting room. There used to be nice comfy sofas in there, but now they've got these hard McDonalds ( Read more... )

My mom's meningioma has come back. Meningiomas are usually very slow growing tumors, but it can't be good when the neurosurgeon remarks on how big it's gotten in 4 years. So now we're waiting to hear from her heart doc on whether or not to do surgery. I'm hoping they can. Right now she can't stand and is pretty much wheelchair bound. I'm ( Read more... )

Well, mom went to physical therapy today. This coming Friday is her last session. She's come a long way. After the surgery, she was bed bound. And before they moved her to a room on the rehab floor she had just started sitting up. Today she got to play with the "balance board."
