Heh
Yesterday I stopped at Boston Market and picked up 3 of those
coupon books (for me, my parents and my brother), and while I was there I got some dinner for me and Casey. It had been years since I'd eaten their food and Casey had never had it. It was good, and we have plenty of leftovers (I got the sirloin family meal for 3). Plus, coupons for later!
This morning was my last research clinic appointment. After going there every month for 2 years, it's over. Everyone was sad and gave me hugs. I told them I'd be back as soon as they had another study I qualified for. Also, I can expect a check for about $500 sometime next week (Half of the payment. I got the other half last year). Woo, just in time for Christmas shopping. This morning's appointment took about 2 hours because they had to give me a pretty thorough physical. Lab work, blood pressure and temp, EKG, Echo-cardiogram (it wasn't the hot guy this time, but a woman instead. I told myself that on the bright side, she might not be as rough. Wrong. I think I might have bruised ribs. Ow), neurological exam (follow my finger, touch your nose, which toe am I touching, bla bla bla), weight and measurements, and a meeting with the nutritionist to discuss future goals. Fun stuff. I'm glad to finally be at work!
Weekend Plans:
Today after work I have to pick up the free turkey they give us every year. Yesterday the line was really long. Oh well, gotta suck it up. I have to get it so I can give it to my mom to cook for Christmas.
Tonight I'm going with April and a few other people to a party to benefit
Care Feline Rescue. They have karaoke and $2 drafts, a combination that means I'll likely be up there making a fool of myself at some point, LOL.
Tomorrow I have to get a Christmas present for my cousin's 5 month old baby Madyson since they will be here next week for Thanksgiving. We all give the kids presents and then we adults draw names. I got my aunt Mary and my mom got me something to get her, so yay. I got 6 yo Lily a
Disney Princess Project and Draw toy. You can put in different pictures (kind of looks like viewfinder cartridges) and it projects them onto paper so you can trace and color them. And the boys (13 and 16) are getting cash. I'm sure Casey will get much the same, because once they get past 10 or so it's way too hard to buy for them.
Anyway, so I have to get that gift and wrap them up so they'll be ready for our Thursday "Christmas" celebration with the family. And of course there are the usual weekend chores of laundry, bill paying and groceries.
Saturday evening I'm going to April's birthday dinner at Cheesecake Factory. Casey doesn't want to go due to the lack of other kids, so I'm going to leave her at home for that and the cat benefit and have some grown up time.
Sunday we have mass in the morning and then probably breakfast with my parents. And then that afternoon Casey and I have an appointment to get a holiday family picture taken. They do this for employees every year... you get one free and then they usually manage to sell me more. I'll try to show some restraint this time, LOL. I was hoping that afterwards, while we're all dressed up, we could do dinner and a movie. Well, now she says her friends want to go see Twilight that evening, though she doesn't know where or what time. I told her to try to talk them into CityWalk at around 8. That way we'll already be there for the picture, and then we can have dinner somewhere and I can go with her and her friends to the movie (and sit far away from them, naturally. LOL, I don't care. I just want to see the movie).
And then I go back to work for 2 days and then I'm off for 6. That's my kind of work week!
