I finally got the internet working on Casey's laptop, so here I am cuddled up in bed AND online at the same time. Woo. Welcome to the 21st century. LOL

I just heard those damn squirrels running around my attic again. Good timing, since I'm waiting for critter control to call and tell me when they plan to show up today. Willow is currently pacing around and staring at the ceiling. Also, she's scared of this laptop. She ran away when I opened it, LOL. Another thing that scares her? Nail polish remover. I bought some of the pads yesterday and the strong smell freaked her out. She stood there staring at me in horror as I removed my nail polish, and then when I held it out for her to inspect it, she ran away. LOL, crazy dog.

So, here's how my Sunday went:

Church with my parents: Casey altar served. They have a new music director, and he played the violin beautifully during mass. I may re-join the choir now that Casey quit gymnastics and I have more free time. I quit a few years ago because I didn't like the director at the time, nor the guy that came after her. So I'm going to keep an eye on this guy and see how he does for a bit before I make a decision. I'm not picky - the first lady made the choir sound amazing, but required more commitment than I was able to give. The next guy liked to do the same boring songs over and over, and I watched the choir dwindle to nothing. So here's to hoping this one will work out better.

Books: After church and then breakfast at Dennys, we stopped at my parents' house because my mom had a couple of boxes of books for me to look through. A friend was trying to get rid of them. I got a Stephanie Plum novel, a couple of Anne Rice books, a Grisham and something called Everyone Worth Knowing (by Lauren Weisberger, author of The Devil Wears Prada). That last one seems the most interesting. I glanced at it last night and couldn't put it down at first, even though I'm already reading two books right now and have another one ordered from the library. But I forced myself to put it down until my book reading schedule has a little more room. Ha.

Quicken: Re-installed it and was thrilled to find it still had my information loaded in. So I was able to balance my checkbook with minimal stress.

Laptop: Like I said, I finally fixed Casey's laptop. At first I was having trouble, and I came really close to giving up and having someone professional come do it for me, but I decided to try a live chat with Comcast. They gave me some easy instructions, and voila - after having a laptop for what? 3 months? She finally has internet. She spent all evening in her room last night. So that's why my kid was always hanging out with me before. The computer was in the living room! She did eventually surface so we could watch Family Guy and The Simpsons. I need to keep an eye on what she's doing online when I'm not around. I was going to check her browsing history just now, but she's changed the password. I'm going to have to get the new one from her when she gets home from school. She knows I have to have all her passwords. Brat.

Groceries: I went to two stores, which is kind of a pain in the ass, but I'm really liking Aldi and you can't get everything you need there. So I went there first, brought that home and put it away, and then headed to Walmart for what I still needed. I think when Aldi isn't so new and special to me anymore, that will come to an end. It's too time consuming.

That's basically it for my Sunday, other than laundry, dishes, etc. Today I get to be lazy. I did have to get up early to get Casey up for school, and then she refused to ride the bus because apparently it's just a bunch of scary 8th graders on there in the morning (I reminded her that she's less than a year from being an 8th grader herself and she said "But I'm not like THEM.") So I woke her up, went back to sleep for 45 minutes, then threw a sweater on over my PJs and Willow and I drove her to school. It was nice though, to come in from the cold, get under the covers and cuddle with the dog. At some point I should probably put some clothes on and like, brush my teeth or something.

EDIT: This laptop randomly shut down on me during this post. WTF? Thank God for LJ's auto-save feature.
