Freak Virus

I have 2 pukey girls in my house. WTF? Humans and dogs can't share the same virus, right?

Willow has been throwing up for the past two nights. Last night was especially bad. I think the only reason she eventually stopped was because there was nothing left in her stomach. Poor thing. The vet closes at noon today, so I'm just waiting to see if she manages to keep down her breakfast between now and then. If not I'll take her in. I'm hoping she just got ahold of something bad and has since gotten it all out of her system. She seems okay so far.

And then Casey threw up again this morning. What kind of virus lasts 2 weeks and comes and goes like that? All her lab work from last week came back normal. I don't know what her deal is. Her temp is 99.2, so not too awful. I'm going to let her still do the cookie booth this afternoon as long as she doesn't get sick again before then and her temp doesn't get too high. I know they need all the help they can get selling those cookies, and she loves doing it. She's thinking that maybe she gave her virus to one of her friends and then got it back. But I don't think they really work that way. Don't you develop a bit of an immunity right after being sick?

I'm wondering if there's something Casey ate that I didn't, and maybe she fed some of it to the dog. But I don't know... we pretty much eat all the same things, and if it was something she ate it wouldn't be lasting this long. Unless she keeps eating it. Hm. She claims she never gives the dog any of her food, but I don't know about that.

Speaking of things the kid might not get to do this weekend, I am waiting for a phone call about getting her a ticket to Busch Gardens for tomorrow. There's a lady I know who works at Sea World (same company in case you didn't know). I barely know her... we were both in the International Association for Administrative Professionals at one point. I think she's actually the head of our chapter. I let my membership lapse a long time ago because Todd (my boss at the time) said I had to attend the meetings on my own time and pay the fees myself. Well, not the membership fee... the company paid that. But each meeting was a dinner thing, and I had to pay $15 every time. It wasn't worth my money or time (I had to work my normal shift all day and then spend a couple of hours at a meeting that basically related to my work) so I quit going. Anyway, I think I've spoken to Patti maybe once. But a couple of times in the past, she has gotten Casey into Busch Gardens for me (I get in free because I'm a Universal employee). She just makes a call and leaves her name at Guest Services. So I emailed her yesterday and got no answer. I found an old email from her that had her signature with her phone numbers, so I called her at work. Got a message that said she was out of the office. DOH. So I called her cell phone and asked her if there was any chance she could help me. She said she'd see what she could do and call me back either yesterday or today. No word yet. If all she has to do is call them, I don't see why it would be a problem. But like I said, now it also depends on Casey's health.

Okay. We desperately need groceries, so I guess I need to go get out of my PJs and get some.

casey's health, willow
