I'm enjoying the time change. Yesterday's relaxing evening seemed to go on forever (it felt like it should be late when it wasn't) and then this morning I woke up feeling rested. Woo.
I saw the movie
Bella yesterday afternoon. I really liked it. It made me cry until my throat hurt. It's an independent film about a woman who gets pregnant and is faced with the decision of what to do about it. I could obviously relate. It's a nice story, though. Pretty heart-warming. The only problem I had with it was that it was way too short. Just as you are starting to get to know the characters and get really interested in the story, it suddenly fast-forwards and ends. And it's not like they ran short on time. It's only 100 minutes long. But other than that, it was great.
Also, I have to see
Juno. OMG, Rainn Wilson, Michael Cera, Jason Bateman, Jennifer Garner, JK Simmons and Alison Janney. Mainly those first 3 are what make me squee, but yeah. It looks really good.
So, I let Casey stay home while I went to the movie. I like that she's old enough that I can do that now. Bella isn't inappropriate for her at all, but I knew she would have no interest in it and be totally bored, so I didn't make her go. So then, like 10 minutes into the movie I get a call from her Girl Scout leader, wondering where she is. Apparently, she was supposed to be working at a candy booth outside of Publix. She didn't tell me. That's the thing about her leader... she expects them to tell us things. It would have been nice if Casey had told me, and I did get on her case for it, but how hard would it have been to send the parents an email? I don't know about other kids her age, but I know Casey has no concept of time. She knew about the sales, but didn't realize it was that day. Apparently only one girl showed up, and the rest had to be called. So I left the movie for a minute, called Casey and told her to get her uniform on STAT, then called my mom and asked her to please take her for me. Thank goodness for my parents living nearby.
After the movie I had planned on getting some groceries anyway, so I just went to the Publix she was at. The timing worked out well, because she finished just as I was loading the food into my car.
And that's pretty much my Sunday, other than the usual church and breakfast with my parents, bill paying, laundry (still got 3 loads to do), cleaning up the kitchen, watching TV, reading, etc.
I have a Dr. appointment this afternoon, though I don't know if it's necessary. He had told me to go to that weight loss surgery seminar and then get back to him because he wanted me to get with this other place who works with insurance companies. Well, I've been to the seminar & been told my insurance doesn't cover it, so now I'm ready for the next step. I called to find out if I needed to make an appointment or if I could just get the referral information on the phone. I left a voice mail and have not heard back. Then I did an appointment request online, putting in the notes that I wasn't sure if an appointment was needed, but to please let me know. All I got back was my appointment time. SIGH. So I'm going to try to call and talk to a real person today, but chances are good I'll end up just going in. I don't know if this is something I want to do. I just want to look into my options.
