Son of a crap. My DVR just freaked out on me and now it won't work. Hopefully it will kick in soon, or I'll get the shakes. Heh.

Also, WTF happened to Barney the dinosaur's voice? I turned on the TV to do some stuff on the DVR and it was on. I didn't bother changing the channel, and then I heard very, very wrong, weird voice coming out of Barney. I haven't watched that show since Casey was little, so maybe this is not a new development. I am, however, disturbed (shut up). They could have at least used someone who sounded the same! But I suppose 3 year olds don't care, eh?

Holy crap, I just took Willow out for a minute and there are pissed off squirrels all over the cul-de-sac. Usually they are just running around looking cute, but there were like 3 or 4 of them sitting in various trees and making these angry sounds. It's like a Hitchcock movie. There was one in the tree by my house that was looking at us and yelling. LOL, I thought he might pounce. They are probably working through some family issues.

Anyway, I did go to that Dr. appointment this afternoon (which is why I'm home early now). He told me my next step is to check with HR and make sure my insurance will cover the surgery. If they do, we have to meet once a month for 6 months, I have to see a nutritionist (which I already do) and I have to see a psychiatrist. He seemed really optimistic that the lap band surgery is a good idea for me (it's the least invasive and the only one I'd really consider). I kind of doubt it will happen, because I have a feeling insurance is not going to cover it, and no way could I afford it on my own. But I may as well look into it. He did give me the information on the doctor he recommends, and it's the same one who did my friend Jean's surgery. She has had great results and was really happy with that group. Anyway, the (Will Ferrell look alike) doctor made me laugh when he was talking about insurance coverage. He goes "I looked into it for a co-worker and found out our insurance doesn't even cover this stuff. And I thought 'Well, shit. I'm a fucking hypocrite." I just found it amusing, because I'm pretty sure that's the first time a doctor ever said "fuck" to me.

Anyway, I gotta pick Casey up from gymnastics in a few minutes, and then I'm going to cook another one of those recipes my nutritionist gave me. This one is stir fried beef and potatoes. Yum. I also have laundry to finish, dishes to put away, and I plan to take the dog for a walk at some point.

Oh HEY, DVR works again. Woot.
