Corn!

We had a good time at the corn maze. In fact, Casey wants to make it a new tradition to go every year. We ended up being a party of 10, with her friend Elise (her parents were there, but went off on their own and let her hang with us), Beth, Jean and their kids. First we spent about 1 1/2 hours going in circles in the maze because nobody could figure out where we were. Then we came out, took a little break and got some food and beverages in us while Casey, Niki and Elise studied the map. Then we went back in, Casey took the lead and she got us through it in 20 minutes. LOL. Actually, we didn't hit all the areas we were supposed to. You get a little sheet when you start and you are supposed to come to these different stations, and somehow we skipped some. But hey, we went in the start area and came out the finish, so I say we win.

They had a few other activities, but we didn't do much of that. They had playgrounds and face painting that all the kids felt too big for, a slide only Elise wanted to do, and they have hay rides, but Casey and I were the only ones interested. Maybe we'll go back sometime, just the two of us. The girls did go through a smaller maze where you get your fortune told when you reach the end, and they seemed to enjoy it.

After we left there, we all had dinner at Fridays (except Elise, who met back up with her parents), and then Casey and I got home at around 7. Jean offered to let Casey spend a couple of days of her upcoming Thanksgiving vacation at their house. They are getting the whole week off this year, which has never happened before. Weird. We'll be going to Georgia to visit family that Wednesday-Sunday, but I'm okay with her spending Monday and Tuesday with Niki.

Elise and Casey at the front entrance, while we waited for everyone else to arrive. The sun kind of washed them out.

Weird pumpkin

Casey pointing the way. Those are Maze-O-Vision glasses (or rather, 3D glasses. Ha). You are given a map of the maze, but it's encoded, and only with these glasses can you actually see it.

Is this the right way?

I would also like to note that we have known all of these kids (minus Elise) since Casey was four. I cannot believe how much they have all grown. So, for a bit of comparison, here is a picture of her and Niki at their joint birthday party the year that Casey turned 5 and Niki turned 4 (they have the same bday). Aw. LOL, Niki used to always pose like that.
