I finally finished Deathly Hallows! Woo. I’m almost speechless, but I’ll see if I can put a few thoughts together, and then I want to go see what you guys said.
• The whole thing with Snape was exactly what I thought. From the moment I saw that he’d killed Dumbledore, I was certain it was because he’d told him to and that he was on the side of good the whole time. So there. Poor Snape, killed by Nagini!!!
• A few days ago, when I was about halfway through the book, I woke up in the middle of the night and went “Harry’s a horcrux!”. It hit me in my sleep. LOL, and I was right.
• I was not a fan of the epilogue. Very cheesy and fairytale-like. I would much rather have found out what careers they all ended up with. And who raised Teddy? I thought it would be Harry? Although he was really young when Tonks and Lupin died. Oh, I guess it was probably his grandmother.
• Speaking of deaths, WOW there were a lot. I had been thinking about making an RIP list in here, but decided to forget it, because I might forget some. Casey wanted me to tell her what was happening as I read, so each time there was a death I had to give her hints so she could guess who it was. I kind of feel like I shouldn’t have told her anything, in case she does decide to read the books in the future (and she does see the movies). But she wanted me to tell her, and knowing her she’s going to forget most of it anyway. LOL
EDIT: Yep, I do have more now that your posts have made my brain work!
• I forgot to say that the one thing I did like in the epilogue was when we discovered Harry’s son’s name was Albus Severus Potter. I love that.
• “Not my daughter, YOU BITCH!” WOO.
• What the heck was up with Draco? He did nothing but wander around and slobber through the whole book. Actually, that’s pretty much true of the whole Malfoy family.
• Did I miss something, or was it ever revealed whether or not Madeye was actually dead? Was the eye in Umbridge’s office supposed to mean he was?
• I think JK could easily write another book about what was going on at Hogwarts while Harry, Ron and Hermoine were on the run. So much happened that we missed. I would love to read about it.
• So, the creepy baby thing in the background when Harry was talking to Dumbledore… was that Voldemort’s soul?
• I like that Harry learned that Dumbledore isn’t perfect. It’s a right of passage to realize that your parent (and that’s what he was to Harry… the father he never really had) is not perfect and does not know everything.

Here is a great article where JK explains more about what happens to the characters in the future. Snagged from
sheshavingababy.
I can’t think of anything else at the moment. My brain is still a little jumbled. I think maybe I’ll have more to say when I start reading what other people thought. It will probably get my thoughts going a bit. I will say that it’s going to make a great movie.
So, now I am going back to finish White Oleander, which only has about 2 chapters left, and then I’m starting the whole HP series over.
Oh hey, my paycheck had an extra $150 in it today. Standing in the rain for 6 hours on a Saturday night doesn’t seem so bad anymore. Still, if I do these events in the future I’ll probably avoid summer. I was asking to get sick by doing that.
This afternoon my department is going bowling. Woo. I suck at it, but still love it. If I break 100 I’m having an amazing day. Also, this probably means getting home earlier than usual, which is always lovely.
Tonight we are going out to eat with the family for my uncle’s birthday. It’s an Italian place called Tortino’s. I don’t think I’ve been there, but I do love Italian. Yum.
Not a lot of weekend plans. We have to get Casey packed and ready for Sea World camp, which is Monday. One thing that must be done is going through her closet. She has so much clothing that is too small for her, and her closet is literally stuffed. I run out of hangers and room in the closet when I’m putting away laundry, and I end up having to hang a lot of stuff over the chair in her room. So yeah, we have to go through and get some clothes ready for the October garage sale. While we’re doing that, we can decide what she’ll wear to Sea World camp.
Other than that and the usual (gymnastics practice, church and breakfast with my parents), no plans. I know I always say this, but I have GOT to get some stuff done around the house. If I make good progress, maybe I’ll reward myself by taking Casey to the movies. You saw the list of movies we want to see. It’s giant, so we have to get cracking. LOL
Oh. I didn’t quite make it to the church talk thingy last night. I got there and saw that there were about 2 cars in the parking lot and decided not to bother. I was not about to go in and have it be me and the speaker, or even just a couple of us and her. I don’t know what’s up with the poor attendance at these things, but it could be just because it’s summer. Also, there was a nasty storm brewing when I got there, so maybe people wanted to stay home.
Not much to say about Big Brother. I would have preferred Kail leaving, but whatever. I’m okay with Dustin wining HOH. I hope he puts up Jen and Dick.
As far as SYTYCD, I was shocked about Kameron. Totally shocked. It has gotten to a point where I really like everyone, but Dominic was the one I kind of wanted to see go. And I fully expected him to. I was surprised Kameron was even in the bottom 4. I was okay with Jamie. She was probably my least favorite girl. At this point I’m going to be sad every week. At least they are all doing the tour. I adored Pasha and Lauren’s hip hop routine Wednesday night.
