I practically had to drag Casey from the computer just now so I could actually get some time on it. Yeesh. And now she's watching Fresh Prince of Belaire, which is distracting because I want to watch it. LOL

Yesterday I got a decent bit accomplished, so I allowed myself an hour to read my HP book before time to get ready to go to work. I laid in my bed to read and Willow was stretched out next to me. Then Casey grabbed her book (Landry News, if anyone is curious... it's on her 6th grade summer reading list, and she loves it) and hopped in bed next to me. So we had a nice little moment, with the three of us hanging out and me and Casey engrossed in our books. But unfortunately I had to break it up so I could get her to my parents' house and be ready for Eliana to pick me up for work.

My shift last night was pretty freaking miserable. It didn't stop raining for the first 6 hours we were there, and my job consisted of standing outside the entire time. They gave us rain coats and told us not to hide under awnings or cluster together or any of that. We were out there to provide superior guest service, so we were to suck it up, stand in the rain and smile. Well, everyone else I saw did exactly the opposite and hid where it was dry, but I was a good girl and did as I was told. My job was to answer questions, give directions, etc. It was fine, other than that part where I got soggy and had soaking wet feet all night. But I entertained myself by figuring out how much money I'd earned at different points of the night. I will not regret that shift when I see my paycheck on Friday and I'm able to pay more bills. Plus, there were some total cuties at that convention, some with charming accents that made me want to take them home, so that part was fun. Sheryl Crow put on a concert for them, but unfortunately I wasn't stationed anywhere near there and couldn't even hear it. Oh well.

Anyway, I got home at around 2 AM and managed to read a bit more before my eyelids stopped cooperating and I had to go to sleep.

This morning Casey called and woke me up at 11:30. My mom had decided to take her shopping for school supplies, and she wanted to know if she needed anything else, like for Sea World camp or something. I said no, but now I do think she needs some shorts. She has like 2 pairs that fit her, and it's freaking hot out.

Anyway, I got up and went out for groceries, then went and picked Casey up from my parents. We headed to the church so I could sign us up for Beach Day this Saturday. So, we pull into the church parking lot and it's a madhouse. It looked like Easter Sunday, with cars parked in the grass and all over the place. The only thing we could think of was that it was the time of the only Sunday Spanish speaking mass. I don't know why else it would be so crowded. So I'm parking and then Casey is like "Oh, I don't want to go to Beach Day". Nice time to tell me, now that I was in the middle of a packed parking lot. I guess she's worried she won't know anyone or something. Whatever. I'm not going to force her, but it would have been nice to know before I had to battle that stupid parking lot.

So then we headed for Petco so I could get some crickets. They were doing pet adoptions today, and they had so many adorable puppies and kittens! I wanted to take every one of them home. I laughed so hard when they put this one dog in a cage with another one, and he immediately started trying to hump him. The SPCA lady was trying to pull them apart and going "Lucky, he's a boy! He's a boy!" Holy crap it was funny. Anyway, I took a couple of pics:

Aw, just look at that little guy! And how pretty does my girl look in this pic?

This ferret was cracking us up. Casey would put her hand on top of the cage and he kept trying to get to it. He was jumping up and down, climbing on things. So cute.

When we got home, I gave Willow a bath with her new shampoo. I had to use gloves, which was weird, and then we had to leave the shampoo on her for 10 minutes. Jeez. It wasn't that bad, though. I left her in the tub and sat on the bathroom floor. I had one hand on my book and the other (gloved) hand was petting her. Plus I gave her a couple of treats to keep her busy. She was a good girl, and now she's all clean. The pills I've been giving her seem to really be working well. I haven't seen her scratch once today. Yay, I bet she feels so much better. But I think the pills make her thirsty. She's been drinking and peeing constantly. So annoying to have to get up and take her out every 20 minutes. But she's taking a really high dose right now (4 pills a day) and I'll be slowly decreasing them until we find the right one, so maybe it won't be as bad later.

I took this after the bath.

I spent a lot of time reading HP today. I'm on chapter 10 right now. That's probably pretty lame to some of you... I bet a lot of you have already finished it. But hey, I'm a busy girl. Chapter 10 after having it for 2 days is amazing for me! I'm enjoying it so far. I think I'll make a separate post with my feelings about things thus far. I don't want to spoil anyone who goes behind the cut to see my pictures.

Anyway, this will be Casey's last week at her summer camp. She is totally psyched about starting middle school next month. Especially after my mom took her out and bought all her school supplies and some new clothes. She showed me her new backpack and all her supplies, and she was really psyched. I'm glad. I'm excited for her.
