All day long, I have been listening repeatedly to THIS:

It's funny, because I've been aware of Ray Lamontagne for a while but had never heard any of his albums. I was watching Late Night With Conan O'Brien* last night, flipping between programs during commercials, and this guy was singing. A guy with a full, bushy beard, casual shirt, and a worn, raspy voice. Me, I was mesmerized.
As a fan of Motown soul, this song has EVERYTHING in it that I love--sexy, swoony brass in the back, girl-group harmonizing in the middle, and a guy pouring his heart about that special, amazing girl that he's into front and center. I never even turned it back to the program that I was originally watching, I was that enthralled. And the funnier thing still is that I had just read a couple of reviews of his new album earlier in the week and, having never seen his photo, and I just knew that that's who it was. At the end, Conan confirmed my suspicions and I hopped right over to amazon.com to download the album.
Is it good? Hell yeah. If I guy sang a song like this to me, I'd be a puddle. It's the romantic in me, I suppose. So I won't even apologize for the fact that I'm likely going to listen to this song another 1,436 times tomorrow. I just can't help myself.
*I swear, I am finding new bands all the time on that show! I first saw and fell for Flight of the Conchords and Dressy Bessy on Late Night. :)
