it's all about you

I wouldn't say that I've had a bad day--I'm just hideously irritable today.

(You ladies out there know what I'm talkin' about. Grar, am I right?)

Plus, at least half the people that I encounter in transit each day are complete idiots. I should be allowed to deck at least one person daily, just to let off steam. STOMP. GRUMBLE.

Random exclamation! Holy cow--manos99 just officially killed my bad mood with the video for "Business Time" from the Flight of the Conchords' fifth episode. OMG. Jemaine...naked. While singing. About business. Bret's dance in the background is officially the funniest thing I have seen in ages. I laughed harder at his 'swerve' than any of Jemaine's sexy facial expressions!

In odder news, Alex asked me (out of the blue) this weekend if I would be adverse to his setting me up with a buddy (and ex-coworker) of his. A cute, cuddlesome, glasses-wearing geek that likes good food and going to art museums. A tall one, who is pretty darned near my age. So I said why not? I have no clue what his friend will say, but it seems like an interesting opportunity, so there you go.

But I'm wondering...is this whole situation weird? I mean, I know that the matchmaker is my most recent ex and all (which, okay, slightly awkward), but he has my best interests at heart and he knows me a lot better than most, so he's a pretty good judge of what I'd like and who I might be compatible with. A co-worker of mine exclaimed "No WAY should you do this!", but she couldn't really explain her reasoning, so that's not very helpful. Ah well. We'll see what happens, I suppose. Opinions, anyone?

Fun stuff:

--How cool is THIS? Plastic beads = stained "glass" lampshades!

--Awesome cupcake-decorating links, via ReadyMade. (The billiard balls are my favorites.)

--Take a time-out from masturbating and make your own Domokun iPod case. Give those poor kittens a break!

--Flickr cuteness: I See Faces.

--Claire Danes generally gets on my nerves, but even *she's* adorable in this Gap commercial with Patrick Wilson. It's like his charm is a superpower, y'all!

--COME OUT ON DVD, ALREADY, OMG.

--I've been reading my way through Raina Telgemeier's comics lately. They're sweet and biographical, and I love the way she draws.

--If you're of a curious sort and you've never checked out "How Much is Inside?", do it! I like learning stuff and laughing at the same time.
