I'm struggling to come up with a post, after about a week of jetting around being elsewhere.
jeramey and
brennx0r were awesome in person, and I also got to meet
dariusk 1 who was a lot of fun to be around. Gluing them together, I met
nerdgir1 and
pentasonic, at whose place Darius was crashing during PAX but who also know Jer and Bren (at least to some extent). And of course I got to see
d33ann for the first time in years, which was brilliant.
I got to play a lot of
N+ on Xbox Live Arcade, including some truly evil multi-player levels; I got to meet the guy who made Chronotron, and tell him he was inspiration for me to pursue and have faith in the casual games market; and I got to spend a little time trying out a dozen other games soon on the market. There was a lot I missed, but I did as much as I could.
I also got to attend a really awesome party by Cryptic, and creep in on a long drinking session (not exactly a party) with the
Game Cock Media and
Red Fly Studio guys. By Saturday morning I realized I needed business cards, so I got some printed out and that went pretty well. I got to talk to a lot of players, a lot of developers, and over the course of my time in Seattle I got a few more verbal offers. Tomorrow is a big deadline for picking where I go, I'll let everyone know when it's done and done. :-)
It was really nice coming home today, though. I missed
misphit a lot.
1. Apparently I did enough job of segregating them that Darius thought this blog and my "industry professional" blog to which I avoid linking from here were different people. Correcting that misunderstanding yielded an hour or two of entertainment, but also reassured me that the creepy stuff that happened before probably won't happen again.
