Yep, it’s our last day today. There’s a bit of a somber mood in the air today, but that could partially be due to the fact that some of us are hungover and not looking forward to getting on to that boat to go back to London.

Day 23

It feels a little bit surreal that we’re in Amsterdam and it’s our last full day in a city on the tour. I can’t believe how quickly the time has gone by, some times it feels like only yesterday I was breaking my back trying to lug my backpack downstairs of the  Royal National so I could load it on the bus and hop on to start this Contiki ( Read more... )

Day 22

This is going to be a really short entry because basically all we did was drive was St. Goar to Amsterdam today. First up we had breakfast and loaded our gear onto the bus, and then were taken on a quick tour of a stein store and were able to purchase steins if we wanted. They are so pretty but damn they are expensive... shipping was a rip ( Read more... )

Day 21

Today was not our day. We got away okay but it wasn’t long before we got pulled over by the toll booth cops (Zolls) as we were driving across the border to Germany. Everyone panicked and woke up really quickly to put on our seatbelts and they ended up not even caring about that. Turns out they wanted to search the bus, so we had to follow ( Read more... )

Day 20

So we had a chance to sleep in till whenever we want today as we’re right in the city, so we don’t need to rely on Sam and Ryan to get us in. I got up pretty early though as I’ve been looking forward to Prague since I booked this trip. Day 19

I think I should have a standard opening line for this journal... “today was another lond day on the bus.” Yes, we spend a lot of time on the bus, about half of the tour I’d imagine would be spent driving from onne country to another. Day 18

Today was a full day in Vienna. Another early start (would you expect anything else by now?) and then we had a quick bus tour of the city. We drove around all the main attractions before jumping off at the Maria Theresien-Platz, a big statue of Maria Theresia. Day 17

We woke up to snow covered lawns this morning and it was so cold in the hotel room. I’m usually the first one to awake and get showerd/dressed in the mornings but not today... I’m also a little pissed off for reasons I am not going to detail in this journal.

Day 16

Today was a “on the bus” day-we drove to Munich from Venice and it didn’t take us overly long to get there. We’re only in Munich for 1 night as it’s just a rest stop on our way to Vienna, so we drove straight into the city to take a look around once we got there. Day 15

Today is our free day to do whatever we want. Wow, I did not miss the smell of Venice. We had an early breakfast and caught the train back into Venice so we could have the whole day there to look around in the day time.
