Nashville Jewish Film Festival begins Thursday, October 14
It's virtual, which in this case means that films will be viewable for 48 hours after their official screening time. I'm probably going to try to see IRMI.

Simchat Torah 5776
Between work and nerves, I considered heading home instead of going to synagogue tonight, but I'm glad I made the effort. The gathering was not large -- maybe three dozen people? -- but it was more diverse than the last time I was there (back around 2007), including some South Asians and an African American, and at least two languages in play ( Read more... ) -

It's not every year that a friend from college receives her doctorate. So there was a graduation party at my place. (And because neither said friend nor I have the hang of doing anything by halves, there was so much food that the BYM and I hosted a second party the following night, and I took a big slab of cake over to my honorary mama ( Read more... )
