Yesterday was really bright and sunny, so I packed a simple-to-knit sock and headed off to a local garden centre, by bus.  Looked around the centre - lots of polyanthus and primula in glorious technicolor bloom, plus seedlings of sweet peas, other flowers and various vegetables.  Had lunch - tomato and red pepper soup with a cheese scone, looked ( Read more... )

Yesterday was beautiful.  Sunny yet with enough of a breeze to make it fresh enough for me to not wilt.  Not from the warmth anyway.  So once the towels were finally pegged out, I got a few things together and caught the bus to the Staunton Estates.  There I had lunch overlooking the ornamental lake and noted how much further on the trees were than ( Read more... )

Grace, the cotton cardigan, is coming on.  By dint of some, possibly inadvisably applied, maths and a bit of fudging it's now waist length - the sides and back are knit in one piece to the armholes, so while this might not sound like much in the way of progress actually it is.  Meanwhile even with the weather being unseasonably chilly for May it is ( Read more... )
