Man, this episode has me hating ABC even more for canceling the show. Despite the fact that this may be the last episode that we see, I still loved it. All the stuff with Eli and Nate was awesome even though, as much as I love Nate, I do think he was being a jerk in that last scene. Eli said that he doesn't want Nate to be alone and I believe it. He has every right to be upset, considering what happened, but I think taking it out on Eli was totally unfair.

Yes it may not have been fair, but the poor guy has had his life ripped to shreds... The killer for me was when Nate dumped out the basket of Ben's blocks. Waaaaah!

I have the biggest problem with Beth. Perhaps I'd have some sympathy for her (who doesn't love Eli?) if we'd actually seen her around a bit more, witnessed her interaction with Eli that might make this more understandable. She was happy with Nate... :-(

Speaking of Nate, that petrified look on his face at the end? ZOMG *dies*

Okay, I rewatched this scene and now I see what you're say about Nate and the way he was acting. When I first watched this episode last night the main feeling I had about that last scene was complete and utter shock. We've seen Eli and Nate argue before, but nothing at all like this. When Nate told Eli that he is worse than their father, my jaw dropped and I made some sort of incoherent noise of shock. I don't know what the noise was, but it could've definitely been translated as "Holy crap! He did NOT just say that!" I still think he was being a jerk, but not without very, very good reason ( ... )

>< I loved the ep, but I hated it so much it wasn't funny.

+ Nate x Beth = OTP. Trufax. (Pffft, I've been denying canon since RTD pulled that stunt with the Donna-Doctor 'n the Doctor-Donna last summer, so why not carry it over to ES?)

+ Taylor/Patti bonding moment = totally saved the ep for me, along with all the Matt x Taylor moments. It was good to see Patti being nice to Taylor, and even more so with that "When have you ever known me to be wrong about something?" line. <3

+ Frank's "Let me take care of your brother for once" line? Also ep-saving.

+ The ending killed it. My word, Nate killed me with the "You're just like dad!" bit, and then Eli's reaction? And that to the whole "Oh yah, I'm just gonna black out in your living room now!" bit and the, y'know, LACK of a next ep preview, and this ending killed me.

ABC certainly does know how to piss off viewers, don't they? (They're taking notes from Joss 'n Rusty, honestly. >< )

"Nate x Beth = OTP" - Exactly. Time to FiwF. (fix it with fic)

The whole Taylor storyline was great, but like I said, I wished they'd spent more time on Taylor and Matt's fight - there was so much unsaid. I thought Taylor's speech at the end about all the fights they would have in the future was excellent and I really have made peace with this character. I flat out hated her in early season 1 - hated her with Eli from the very first episode - but I was totally on her side in this ep. Her indecision and turmoil rang very true. Just glad it turned out okay so they didn't have to make that gut-wrenchingly hard decision in the end...

And LOLZ to Matt's makeup sex line. ♥

The ending slayed me - before I'd watched it, when I heard that Eli had a bloody nose at the end of the ep, I just assumed Nate punched him. But to have it be a medical problem? I was shocked. The second wave of dismay was when I realized immediately after that we may not find out what happens for some time.

FiwF, Ver. Please?

Dx My problem? Well, ok, two (maybe three) problems:

1. I have a 4-chap ES fic in-progress that was s'pposed to be out tonight/tomorrow but, because of Amazon/hectic life in general, didn't make it.
2. When I finally had time to write it, I made the mistake of buying the Dramacon: Ultimate Edition (and reading the whole thing in one night), which has left me with too much DCon inspiritation (oh yes, it's a word: inspiring irritation/irritating inspiration) and not enough ES inspiration.
3. I've got the first chapter done, and I hate it. And the third chapter was killed by last night's ep (and the second 'n fourth by other little annoyances in the show).

...that being said, I'm sitting down tomorrow, redoing Ch1, saying "PISS OFF!" to canon (in that grand RTD way I've developed since discovering Who), and trying to finish it. And leaving DCon alone. Dx

What's pissed me off about ABC: I've heard summer at least if ever. The fact that they have these next four eps DONE and are considering not even showing them has pissed me off ( ... )

Having no Maggie or Jordan in the episode completely sucked, if indeed it's the last episode we see. Especially Jordan when you consider the size of his fan base.

Maybe we'll be in luck the S2 DVDs will be released soon... I'm clinging at straws here, I know.

Glad to hear you're ficcing. Canon be damned, I say!

I'm sorry, but the way they ended it was just...You can't leave a last episode WITH A CLIFFHANGER? How cruel is that? You could at least finish off a show by showing an episode that at least leaves it at a conclusion.

Though, the way it ended, it might people so pissed off that they might protest to ABC.

As for the episode, I liked it! I think the Baby arc is actually making me like Matt/Taylor a WHOLE lot. And when Patti and Taylor had that moment in the bathroom -- man, all that is SO true and it was such a SWEET moment.

We can only hope enough pressure is put on ABC to show the remaining 4 episodes. What's the harm now, for God's sake? Just show them and let us move on!!

Matt & Taylor are love. X-)

I know!! 4 more episodes! They're already ordered and made so there's really no harm. Jeez.

Though, you know, pissed off fans can create pressure. XD

Yeah, now I want to know what their kid looks like! All that baby talk was making me nostalgic for my boyfriend so we can have conversations like that lool. Matt is more endearing as a hot, soon-to-be father.

Amen, sister. It was a great plotline for his character, and Taylor's. The fact we won't see it once it's born just pisses me off.

OK, so apologies for not commenting until now but I have been so frustrated with my life in general as well as this episode for so many reasons. First of all, KUDOS to some KICKASS picspam as usual. YOU ROCK! Now, where to begin? Thanks for making me literally laugh out loud with the ongoing "You canceled my show?" captions--they fit perfectly. Next, I agree 150% with your opinion that they mucked up an excellent storyline by making Beth love Eli too. I saw that possibility in the very early episodes and actually rooted for it, but after they had her and Nate get together, I was all for it. It was a rare drop in an otherwise wonderful bunch of storylines, but what a drop! If the show had gone on, they might have been able to fix it. If, crap, SIGH. Last, but not least, I LOVED those itty bitty hockey skates! BRILLIANT!

Great job, one more time. Here's hoping they air the remaining eps, at the very least on DVD. *SIGH* again....

Lol, glad you liked it. I hope it won't be the last. ;-)

The hockey skates - my God, they're trying to make me miss Matt even more. Seriously, hands down my favourite character, and that's saying something considering how much I adore Nate and Eli.

I can't accept that ending for Nate and Beth. My concern is that, even if we get to see the final 4 episodes we may not get a reconciliation. From what I can gather from Laura Benanti's website she only filmed those two episodes, so she wasn't going to be seen in any other S2 storylines.

Mind you, Beth managed to have Nate move in with her and get engaged all without appearing on screen, so I'll just pretend they patched things up. Denial is such a happy to exist in. (Or, you know, when it doubt just make it up yourself.)
