There’s absolutely nothing like spending this time of year with family without having to worry about tour schedules and the like. Luckily, I now have two families to such with.
We had an early Christmas with Ryan's family on Sunday in order for us to be able to go to Australia. It ended up being a great time. It was a quiet evening with just his parents and the both of us. Everything seemed to be different in the sense that it was an early ‘celebration’ of the holidays, which I’m not particularly used to, but it was nice. There was a lot of food and gifts and the actual satisfaction of being with people you consider family.
Sometime Monday evening, we arrived in Melbourne and were greeted with hugs and kisses by three extremely familiar Australians. Ha. I can’t even begin to describe how it feels to be back in Fitzroy. It’s this whole different place compared to Los Angeles. I grew up here and I know this place like the back of my hand and consider it my real home. It just feels really fucking good and safe and… real. Especially with these three, superb people around me that I haven’t seen in a while.
I can’t wait to spend actual holidays with my family and my boyfriend. That’s pretty much what I believe the holiday season should really consist of; spending time with those people you love and enjoying everything around you. Happy Holidays and all that shit.
