Wow, had I only known. I guess I'll blame my parents for feeding me tofu at an early age.

I particularly enjoyed the following quote:

Homosexuals often argue that their homosexuality is inborn because "I can't remember a time when I wasn't homosexual." No, homosexuality is always deviant.

I guess I'm a deviant for life. Damn you, soybeans!

All that talk of lightly-braised firm tofu cubes with homemade sweet-soy sauce has made me incredibly hungry. My boss from graduate school was from China, so every holiday dinner we had at his house included some amazing tofu dishes that his wife would make. All of my attempts to recreate said dishes ended up with me spending a lot of money on ingredients that I deftly transformed into bowls of random mush. I didn't quite get to the level of giving myself food poisoning, but I certianly didn't come close to achieving the levels of culinary greatness to which I had aspired ( ... )

How could I forget crab rangoons?! *salivates*

If I ever have a working oven again, I will definitely make my cookies. They are THE BOMB. Of course, there's no law against making them for other times of the year. My lemon- or nutmeg-enhanced sugar cookies, lemon squares, jammy shortbread thumb cookies and gingerbread rock. I also make a mean homemade berry pie, good cakes, and okay brownies. "Okay" because it's hard to improve on your average brownie, so it's cheaper and faster to buy someone else's.

Sounds like you're definitely good at baking. I haven't ventured into baking that much, although I did make Amish friendship bread last night. It turned out quite well, I must say. However, I've always been much better at cooking than baking. Hopefully this recent success will encourage me to experiment more, as all those cookies, cakes, and pies sound fantastic (especially as I sit here at work drinking coffee that is just begging for a tasty cookie to accompany it).
