Black Friday - retail therapy

I would prefer to participate in "Buy Nothing Day", but there is one shoe store in Hillsboro that carries only those brands of shoes that are insanely expensive and where the shoes actually make your feet feel relatively at home while wearing them (you know...Keen, Dansko, Birkenstock, Clark, Merrell).  Anyway, Gimre's has a 2-hour sale once a year where everything is 25% off.  So you can't afford NOT to go.

The damage today was one pair of Keen trail running shoes for agility (for when I get back to it!), one pair of Crocs, and a pair of Birkenstocks.  The question is...how the heck did I get to be 40-something and living in Oregon and never having owned a pair of Birkenstocks before???  I mean,  these things are amazing!  They support my weird feet in all sorts of places they haven't been supported before.  And the Crocs - brilliant.  My sore heel doesn't hurt in either pair of shoes despite taking all the weight since I'm not allowed to use the other leg yet.  The Keen's will have to wait, sadly.  But having them in the closet for my return to agility will be something to motivate me to get back out and training (did I mention, they're waterproof!)
