Colton today
Colton spent the day at the vet. He'd have spent yesterday there except that I couldn't get him there because I couldn't drive and C had to work two shifts. Yesterday morning he wouldn't eat and he threw up a little of the water he drank. I'd started him on Metacam on Monday. All I could think was that his liver had crashed. I picked him up tonight with a load of stuff to maintain him at home over the next day and a half since I don't want him staying at the emergency vet where I can't be there for him over the holiday. So I'm in charge of delivering subQ fluids, dosing him with anti-emetics, antibiotics, and stomach calming pills. He isn't to eat or drink until the vet sees hi again on Friday. He seems to have either pancreatitis or some extreme intestinal irritation or infection. I guess that's better than a liver that's crashing but the symptoms are pretty similar and I still feel terrible that I couldn't take him in yesterday when I KNEW he needed to be in there right away.
