Black Friday - retail therapy

I would prefer to participate in "Buy Nothing Day", but there is one shoe store in Hillsboro that carries only those brands of shoes that are insanely expensive and where the shoes actually make your feet feel relatively at home while wearing them (you know...Keen, Dansko, Birkenstock, Clark, Merrell).  Anyway, Gimre's has a 2-hour sale once a year

oooooh Birks, I had a pair of those when they were super popular, at least the sandals were. (I think this was in 96 so I was in uhm.. 7th grade.) Oh man they were comfy! Then I grew out of them and gave em to my mom.

Now with my huge feet the only thing I can wear is skater type shoes in mens sizes. It's hard to find anything in womens 10 and 11's.

check out their web site - http://www.birkenstockusa.com/women - they do indeed have shoes in your size. I'm pretty sure there's a store somewhere in your area that will order them in the right size. If not, send your mom up here with your order *when* she brings Cuppy up for the January shows *eg*

I love Keen shoes. But currently don't own any. Wish I did tho... those $150 price tags keep me away.

$150? I don't have any of THOSE! And that was the reason for going to that one sale on a day when I make a point of boycotting everywhere else the whole weekend :-)
