agility day 1 - Sequim
Outdoor trials are not Brin's strong suit. He gets really distracted by all the smells. Today was the first time EVER that he was able to actually run courses with most of his brain on the course on the first day of the first outdoor trial of the year. My baby may actually be growing up (or not).
He was pokey and didn't exactly burn up the course, but he did manage one Novice FAST leg and his first Exc B JWW leg. I could actually SEE him making the decision to take off early on jumps rather than putting in his usual extra stride and all the bars stayed up. I'm pretty excited even if it was the AX leg I really wanted and he blew that with a missed weave entry that should have been a no brainer.
Day two tomorrow. We've probably used up our good runs for the weekend, but I'm going to try to keep up the focus and hopefully he'll be able to keep his bars up!
