Snow Day

Dec 17, 2010 10:42

Well, it finally snowed! Everyone here has been freaking out about the over-long fall (especially for the sake of the Ski Valley) and now the snow is finally here. Meh. Now I have to shovel for Bob. I haven't shoveled since March when we left Ohio and, frankly, I don't miss it at all. On the other hand, compared to Ohio, this is only like 6 -8 inches so far so I can't complain.

Can you find the teepees in this picture? I bet you can't!

Only one chicken, my darling Goldie, had the balls to brave the snow. However, once I came out, the younger ones (the Lolita side) came right out to see me and to eat. Like my chickens in Ohio, they didn't seem to mind the snow so much. The Cougar side, however, could not be coaxed from their coop.

Sagebrush in the snow.

The equines next door were hilarious.

From left to right: Cyrus the donkey, Lexie the horse, Rose the donkey, and Lupe the 30-year-old toothless mule. All but Cyrus (even old Lupe) were really having fun out there.

Lexie the horse was literally running around the pasture, jumping and bucking and acting all the fool.

Cyrus the donkey, however, just looked at her as if she were nuts and continued to stand still or walk slowly about. It takes a lot to get that jackass to run, trust me.

Our house:

Snow on adobe. Snowdobe?

And now I must go outside and shovel for Bob. Yay.
