I've ordered a bunch of stuff from
http://www.walk-in-beauty.net, but I think my favorite product is the
Harmony Elixir Spray. I got a 2.5 oz spray and customized it with "Other Essential Oils By Request." I asked Vicki to blend the scents of Wild Rose, Orchid, and Chamomile Neroli. And what I got... it could really only be expressed via a synesthetic's prose.
The email that I sent to her:
Hi Vicki!
The package with the Clarity Face Lotion and the Custom Harmony Elixir was in my mailbox last night.
I'm going to give full reviews and testimonials for everything once I get the Clarity Cleanser and Toner.
But for now, I'd like to rave about the Elixir a little:
I immediately put the bottle in the fridge to cool it down for a couple of hours. When I sprayed it on my wrists, I nearly swooned. The scent is... incredible. It smells the way a dream feels. There is an overwhelming sense of pure tranquility. I felt lifted and completely serene. I felt like nothing could worry me; and in such a serene state, I felt my body start to relax and I felt a good portion of my chronic pain slowly start to melt away. And my body doesn't relax easily! Every time I get a massage and the person tells me to relax my overly tense and spastic muscles, I tell them that this is as relaxed as I can get.
As I've said, I'm synesthetic, so my senses tend to overlap when I'm faced with stimuli. I can see and feel fragrances and music as color, and different colors have different feelings and sounds. I always smell rose as a deep, dark red with blended swirls of dark pink. I smell chamomile as a dark soft yellow, and neroli is a bright soothing yellow-orange. Orchid is purple, all shades of purple blended with all shades of blue. This orchid in particular is so vibrantly purple, so intense, it almost made me weep.
The orchid in my custom blend smells very very sweet, very soft, like a child's blanket at naptime. It's also a little green, crisp, very clean. At the same time, it gives off a sense of mystery, of gentle seduction, of fantastic power. Unfolding so slowly and enticingly that you have no choice but to come closer, be pulled into its depths, be transported.
Now for the others. The neroli and chamomile blend immediately into the orchid, swirling around it and through it like playful sprites, giving off a fantastic glow of their own. They're so intertwined that it's hard to imagine them individually. But they have distinct personalities. The neroli is soft-spoken, almost maternal, with a regal air, while the chamomile is playful yet soothing, like a comforting loyal friend. The rose arrives very slowly and quietly, like a bride gliding down the aisle after the bridesmaids. It merges beautifully with the orchid, two lovers, two notes of a song, coming together as a harmony. I see the orchid and rose as two halves of a heart joined together; the neroli and chamomile border the heart on either side and weave through in ribbons, making an intricate pattern like Celtic knotwork.
I would really like to see this custom blend as a perfume on its own, with its own name. What do you think?

Also, the
Gaia Protection Lotion has a similar effect. I loves my Gaia Protection Lotion.
