Don't you wanna be an Alpha Xi too?

eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!

I got my bid from Alpha Xi!!! I am so pumped you just don't even know. When my Rho chi handed me that envelope, I was like, omg.

When I picked up Casey and we got there, everyone was talking about every house but mine. I'd seen Liz when I got my bid and she said she was Alpha Xi too. Then the Fratties show up. OMG. Hot Frat boys in slacks, button ups and ties, with ROSES! I keep asking about Alpha Xi and no one is pledging it, finally Liz shows up and we figure out, we're the only two girls from Rush that pledged Alpha Xi. Why I will never know. These girls are the sweetest, kindest, most beautiful girls on that campus, and soon (once I'm initiated) I can call them (happily) my sisters.

So they count down and we run down sorority mall (six houses total, three on each side, grass, trees and sidewalk down the middle and sides) just Liz and I, holding hands. They gave us bags with balloons and goodies and our 2003 Bid day shirt (which in my eyes was the prettiest one out there). Liz (a sister not my pledge partner) was there, Desiree had class. I hugged everyone and was so happy, nervous but happy and excited. Then the boys came over and introduced themselves and gave us roses! Red by the way.

We sat and met with our New Member chair and then had a ceremony (which was so lovely, love those girls and their songs), and then we hung out and toasted before heading to T.G.I. Friday's for desert. So there we talked and hung out and took more pictures. Liz didn't come, she wasn't feeling well.

I guess AZD has been boarding several girls that go to school at the house. FSU often overbooks dorms forcing some kids to hotels or alternative places to stay. So three girls that are boarding pledged tonight too. But just Liz and I were from Rush. I guess for the sisters it might be disappointing, the other five houses had tons of girls, but to be honest, I can't see why they would go there. The girls in this house, are by far the best, and I am sooooooooo thankful they found something in me that they liked enough to offer me a new home.

I love my girls.

My shirt is blue and white and on the front it has AZD surrounded by two blue hibiscus flowers, and underneath it says Bid Day 2003. On the back it says Forget Sugar and Spice Courage, Class, Heart That's what Alpha Xi's are made of!

I LOVE IT. I didn't want to take it off. It's so cool. I'm so glad I did this, and that so many of my friends were supportive and that Desiree and Liz, and Lindsey saw something in me. Because there isn't any where else I'd rather be.

Casey went to Theta, Crystal and Molly (a girl from my Rho Chi group) went to Phi Mu. I never did see where my Rho Chi (prounounced Row Kai) went, but one of them ended up being in my house. They weren't allowed to tell us, so they came today with like five different shirts on with ta Greeks and Gridiron shirt over them and after we ran to our houses, they'd take of the Gridiron shirt, and then run to a group then go back and take off another shirt, faking us all out until they finally ran to their house. SO much fun. I can't even tell you.

Now tomorrow is catch up with packing, see Andrea, and do some long overdo reading.

Thankfully the house has mandatory study hours based on your GPA and you have to sign in and out for them. eeep. That'll be good for me, it's just finding the time.

Oh our Rho Chi's gave us picture frams with our names on it, Fall '03 and (heart) your Rho chi. It's the pics they took of us after we went to our first house on Friday night. I'm all goofy looking.

*sighs*

It's been worth it. If you ever want to rush somewhere, do it. And do the rush thing, the girls keep telling me they wished they had (a lot did open bidding during the spring). It's worth it. So very much so.

I'm a happy little Alpha Xi pledge. =)

A'S WIN!!!!!!!
