I'm writing from a hotel room in the town of Vänersborg. I spent the day in another town (Halmstad) and when I booked my evening's travel from Halmstad to Vänersborg I sighed. Buses have a section in the middle where there aren't any seats so that people in wheelchairs or people with bigass baby carriages can park there. I've never actually seen a person in a wheelchair get on the bus, but people with bigass baby carriages board the bus via the middle doors. He didn't have a lot of seats to choose from; the bus was almost full when he stepped on board. He took the seat beside me. A young man of about twenty who chose a seat beside a middle-aged woman over the seats beside older men who had not bothered to remove their crap from the seats beside them.

Almost immediately he began his ritual.
