From one of my co-worker's blog posts about attending an engineering conference (no link to source, it's behind the company firewall).

It's true that I didn't contribute anything except body heat to the sessions - possibly not even a word - but I was a glorious parasite, sucking down the knowledge that was flowing around the room...
