Updated as I learn new tricks

Dreamwidth was founded by ex-LJ staff members and the Dreamwidth code is a fork of the LiveJournal open source code (which just means that the software that runs Dreamwidth is based on LiveJournal’s code base). I somehow accidentally hit the "Switch to new version" icon again. *sighs* I finally found the setting (Accounts > Display) that let me get rid of the "Want to add widgets?" thing that takes up an entire third of the friends page so that I can actually read my friends page again ( Read more... )

I got another seemingly random comment from a Russian (Cyrillic) user last night. I ran it through Google translate and it didn't seem to be an advertisement for sunglasses. (I'm not sure why you'd leave a comment that says "A friend, well, you give!" but whatever....) But I still deleted the comment and banned the user ( Read more... )

Ten years ago today I made my first Live Journal post.

I’m not sure, but I think that sirhc_warror had talked me into joining the site. I’d met her at the VTRF over the summer, and she’d sent me a link to her journal entry about how David rescued her when she locked her keys into her car.

So the text links in the header on my home page have all been hidden as menus from that little "hamburger" icon. Which is almost invisible against the header color on my journal. *sighs* It's a good thing I know where to look for the "post" button, otherwise I'd be in trouble.

I read a bunch of old entries today, circa 2006 and 2007. Back when I was still working for HAL, and Bossy Lady and The Office Gossip were making my life miserable.

Sometimes I just need to remember that I'm strong, and have survived a lot of shit in my life. And I'm probably a better person for it.
